KidsFirst is free because it's not run to make a profit — our running costs are largely covered by AWS's startup program, and it's built by a community of contributors who keep overheads low. So there's no business reason to lock the essentials behind a price — and the families who need this most are often already paying for lawyers, court fees, and a second home.
